Unshakable Confidence : Bishop Tony Samuels

The God we serve is an awesome God, and He will never let us down; this is something we must understand and know. Nevertheless, sometimes in the waiting, our faith can begin to waiver; not deliberately, but by reason of the process. Now, there is no condemnation when this happens; it happens to all of us! But Hebrews 10:35 tells us, Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompense of reward.

Confidence means: full trust; belief in the powers, trustworthiness, or reliability of a person or thing. So confidence is having full trust in someone. Notice, it says full trust; so if we don’t fully trust God, we are not going to have strong confidence toward God. Let’s take a look at another translation of that Scripture, Hebrews 10:35 (TPT): So don’t lose your bold, courageous faith, for you are destined for a great reward. So what is the Bible telling us? It’s telling us not to let our confidence, our trust in God, begin to slip away from us. We have to hold on to it, no matter what…because at the end, it is going to bring us a great reward. God is going to reward you for having confidence in Him, confidence that He would do what He said He would do.

I used to wonder why the Lord would allow difficult situations to happen in my life. I used to wonder why He didn’t fix them instantly. Romans 5:3-5 gives us an explanation: But that’s not all! Even in times of trouble we have a joyful confidence, knowing that our pressures will develop in us patient endurance. And patient endurance will refine our character, and proven character leads us back to hope. And this hope Is not a disappointing fantasy, because we can now experience the endless love of God cascading into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who lives.

Walking through life with God, you begin to experience Him in ways that impact you personally. Your personal experiences with God are so valuable for your life and future. It’s your experiences with God that actually begin to build your confidence with Him. I have stronger confidence toward God now than I did 10 years ago, and I have that through the experiences I have had with Him.

Experience means: the process or fact of personally observing, encountering, or undergoing something. When someone says that they are confident in someone, they are testifying of their experience with that person. They are telling you that they can be trusted, because they have experienced it.

God wants you to be able to personally testify of His goodness based on your personal experiences with Him. You see, that’s why we can’t give up, because He has a reward for us. So don’t give up; don’t cave in; don’t rob yourself of your reward…and most of all, don’t rob yourself of an experience with the Lord!

Be Blessed,
