The Pearl Of Great Price : Pastor Jeannette Samuels

The kingdom of heaven is like something precious buried in a field, which a man found and hid again; then in his joy he goes and sells all he has and buys that field. Again the kingdom of heaven is like a man who is a dealer in search of fine and  [p] precious pearls, Who, on finding a single pearl of great price, went and sold all he had and bought it.

Matthew 13:44-46 (AMPC)

Some may question what is happening at LFC right now; what is it, why is it different than before? Well, to answer that you have to realize that the fire of God, the outpouring of His presence, the manifestation of the Kingdom of Heaven in our midst costs something. We are a people that have discovered that precious “something” buried in a field; we are a people who have discovered “the pearl of great price” and have come to the point where we are willing to pay the price; we are willing to sacrifice for it. We have come to the place where we are willing to sacrifice everything we have held dear, or counted as important, in order to have Him, His presence, and His glory. We have come to a place where we are willing to sacrifice (place on the altar) anyone that is looking back, mocking, criticizing, or deriding what we are living for.

The man in the field found something so precious buried in a field that he buried it again so no one else would take it. He ran home, and sold everything he had to buy the whole field… which included what was buried. He sold it all and he didn’t look back; he didn’t weigh the pros and cons, he didn’t consult his family or his best friend; he simply said that everything else failed in comparison to what he found in that field.

The man who was a dealer in search of fine and precious pearls found a single pearl;  he found ONE pearl worth a great price, and it caused him to go and sell everything else that he had to buy it. He didn’t consult the stock market, his bank account, or his 401k or investments; he simply said that there is nothing else that I own that is worth more than this ONE pearl.

The fire of revival has to cost you something. It has to make you look at your life and say to the Lord, whatever it is You want, I will give it. You want my heart and its affections; it’s Yours. I lay down that friendship, that relationship, that association so that it can be pure for You and Your use. You want my finances, my material possessions; they’re Yours. If you want me to give that car away, I’ll do it; if You want me stop spending money at Starbucks, Converse, Target, Nike, Adidas, and Disney because they do not glorify You, I’ll do it. If You want me to sow my whole checking or savings account into someone or something, I will do it. If you want my eargates, they’re Yours. I’ll stop listening to secular music and to Maverick City, Dante Bowe, Rend Collective, and many more because it grieves You, then I’ll do it. If you want my eyegates, they’re Yours. If you want me to stop watching so many Reels, Shorts, TikTok videos because they are distracting my gaze from You, I will do it.

We are a people, and becoming even more of a people, that say it is not about the Lighthouse; it is not about a man or a woman; it is not about position, title or notoriety. We are a people that are learning to say truly: whatever it costs, no matter how hard of a sacrifice it may be, no matter if the road appears a little lonely and challenging, we are willing to leave all we have and go after the Man that gave it all simply to have His children in relationship with Him. To go after the One who left the 99 to save us.

You’re worth it, Jesus, and we are NEVER looking back or going back to a life without sacrifice.
