Seek : Bishop Tony Samuels

“So above all, constantly seek God’s kingdom and His righteousness, then all these less important things will be given to you abundantly. - Matthew 6:33

One of the most powerful instructions ever given to me was: If I would seek God first, and make Him my number one priority in life, that everything concerning my life would begin to fall in place supernaturally. Could it really be that simple…just to put the Lord first, to seek Him first? Know this…the Lord wants to do great things in our lives, but it is important that we have our lives postured in the right position.

The word seek means: To go in search of; to look for; to search for; to try to find. This means that we have to make a decision ourselves to seek the Lord. When we begin to make the decision to seek Him, it activates a special blessing upon our life. Hebrews 11:6 says:  But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Notice, He rewards the diligent seekers. Diligent means: constant in effort to accomplish something; attentive and persistent in doing anything. The Lord is inviting us into sweet fellowship with Him. This is the true place of satisfaction in your spirit and your soul.

Look at what David said in Psalms 63:1: O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is. There is nothing in the land that will satisfy your soul like the Presence of the Lord. We have all been searching for the thing that satisfies. We have looked for it in relationships, material possessions, accomplishments and many destructive addictions…only to find out it wasn’t there. The Lord is inviting us into His abundant life, into everything we’ve been searching for. I don’t want you to get this close and miss what the Christian life is really about!

Look at Mathew 11:28-30: Are you weary, carrying a heavy burden? Come to me. I will refresh your life, for I am your oasis. Simply join your life with mine. Learn my ways and you’ll discover that I’m gentle, humble, easy to please. You will find refreshment and rest in me. For all that I require of you will be pleasant and easy to bear. Weariness is a symptom of seeking the wrong thing; a lack of rest is a symptom of trusting in the wrong thing. Begin to seek Him, not as a requirement, but as a desire to know and receive from the Lord of Glory, and receive refreshing and rest for your soul.

Seeking the Lord will keep you living the Above Life. This is the master key that will open every door for your life. Psalms 34:10: The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the Lord shall not want any good thing.

 Be Blessed & Seek Him!
