As you look at the world and society, you can definitely see that we are living in the last of the last days. Even looking to our own nation, which is deeply divided on many different serious issues. What is amazing is that some of these issues have even crept into the Church of Jesus Christ, and are causing division among God’s people. 

So where does this leave the Church of Jesus Christ? What side should we be standing on? Well, the answer is very simple: we should be standing on God’s side. And where does He stand? He stands in the principles laid out in His Word. He will never lead us to be a part of anything that goes against His Word. So let’s take a look at where He is standing. Deuteronomy 30:19 says, I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live. These Scriptures make it clear; the Lord does not stand on the side of death! He stands on the side of life, and the result for those that stand with Him is blessing. The result for those that stand on the side of death is a curse coming into their lives. Both decisions will affect the next generation! 

Psalms 1:1 says, Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. So, according to this Scripture, even though God loves the sinner, He does not stand with them in their sin. So the Church should never stand with anything or anyone that is promoting sin. 2 Corinthians 6:17 directs the church, “Come out from among them and be separate,” says the Lord. “Touch nothing that is unclean, and I will embrace you.” If we would just get ourselves back into agreement with God, we would all be on the right side. These issues do not have to continue to divide us!

We just came through a season of exposure. A large portion of the Church was exposed, and please   understand; there is nothing wrong with exposure. It is needed for all of us! But after exposure comes a season of confrontation, in confronting those things that are displeasing to God. 1 Peter 4:17 says, For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? God already knows the standard the world lives in, but when the Church adopts the standard of the world, there is a big problem.  

Church, it’s time to get back on the side of God, especially on the issues that are plaguing our society. Traditional marriage and the nation of Israel; and probably the biggest the issue, which is abortion. I believe this issue is the currently the cause for most alarm when it comes to the Lord. And the reason is because the Bible says that out of all the issues the world faces, He hates this one. Proverbs 6:16-17 says, These six things doth the Lord hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: hands that shed innocent blood. So Church, let’s take a stand…together. But we need to not only stand…we need to stand on the side of God.
