Walking Through Adversity Into Destiny : Pastor Tony Samuels

The Lord has a divine destiny for each one of us, but along this path into that destiny, there will be adversity. If you don’t learn how to walk through adversity, you will never arrive and see the destiny that the Lord has for your life. The Bible says that the path of the just gets brighter and brighter into the perfect day. That’s good news! That means things always work out for the believer; that things always get better for the believer. But even though it gets brighter, there will be clouds that show up to try to block the vision of God for your life. It’s up to you to not get distracted and maintain your course.

The Bible says in Proverbs 24:10 (KJV): If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small. A day of adversity comes to try to rob you of your future, and having strength to make it through that day is the key. Strength is always available through our union with the Lord Jesus. Ephesians 6:10 (AMP) says,  In conclusion, be strong in the Lord [draw your strength from Him and be empowered through your union with Him] and in the power of His [boundless] might. Our connection to the Lord keeps us connected to His power. It’s amazing; when we go through adversity, we have a tendency to draw away from the Lord. The enemy’s objective is to make you look like the adversity you are going through. He wants you to wear it, because he wants to mock us and mock God. What you do in the adversity will determine how you come out of the adversity. Psalms 18:6 (AMP) says, In my distress [when I seemed surrounded] I called upon the Lord and cried to my God for help; He heard my voice from His temple, and my cry for help came before Him, into His very ears. David, the man after God’s heart, had the ability to access God no matter what he was going through. This Psalm is amazing, because after that prayer, the Lord brought a mighty deliverance into David’s life.

Something else you will need to make it through the day of adversity into your destiny is patience. Patience means: an ability or willingness to suppress restlessness or annoyance when confronted with delay; to steady; perseverance; to be even-tempered; to be diligent. Patience is one of the fruits of the spirit. It will give you the ability to maintain through adversity and pressure. Even though you may feel it on the outside, there is a greater force on the inside leading you through into destiny. James 1:2-4 (KJV) says, My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. Our faith will be tested, and patience will help you to pass the test. Patience is given to us so we can outlast any adversity that comes into our lives. It’s not about the storm; it’s about what condition you will be in after the storm. Will the house still be standing or will it be blown away?

Walking in patience will ensure there is nothing lacking; as a matter of fact, you will come out better than when you went in! James 5:11 (KJV) says, Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy. Job came out better after his adversity; he made a decision he would not deny the Lord, and it paid off. One of the biggest things about walking through adversity is that you find out something about God that you didn’t know before; you come into a deeper understanding of His love and His perspective. David said in Psalms 119:71 (AMP), It is good for me that I have been afflicted, that I might learn Your statutes. So come on, my brothers and sisters; let’s walk through what we have to walk through to get to what we have to get to… which is our divine destiny!!!!!!

Be Blessed!!!
