The Voice of Destiny : Bishop Tony Samuels
The voice you listen to will determine the destiny that you walk in. A lot of times in our lives, our destination in life was being determined by the voice we chose to listen to. When we listen to the right voice, we will have blessed outcomes in life; on the contrary, when we listen to wrong voice, we will have unsuccessful outcomes in our lives.
Let’s look at what Jesus said concerning this in John 10:27: My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. Then, in John 10:5 He says, And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers. This is amazing! There is the Voice of God for our lives, and then there is the voice of a stranger. We must be able to discern between the two, because the voice we listen to will be the voice we follow.
From the beginning, it was listening to the wrong voice that led man into trouble. Adam and Eve chose to listen to the voice of the serpent, and that voice put them in direct conflict with the Voice of God…the Voice that told them not to eat of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. They chose instead to listen to the voice of the enemy, and it is still affecting the destiny of the human race to this day.
We must understand that all of creation was created with the Voice of God. The Bible says that in the beginning, God said, and God said…and what God said appeared, which lets us know that the Voice of God is truth, and it creates. The voice you listen to is either going to build your life or destroy your life.
In John 10:10, Jesus said, The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. When we listen to the right voice, it leads us into abundant life. When we listen to the wrong voice, it leads us into destruction. Deuteronomy 28:1-2 says, Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the Lord your God will set you high above all nations of the earth. And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the Lord your God…
Personally, my life began to change when I started to listen to the right Voice. There have been times when the wrong voices came in, and when I listened to them, my life began to go in a decline. When I gave my life to Christ, I began to listen to His Voice, and I realized that God wanted me to change the counsel I was living my life by.
There is power in the counsel that you are allowing to direct your life. Psalms 1:1 says, Blessed (happy, fortunate, prosperous, and enviable) is the man who walks and lives not in the counsel of the ungodly [following their advice, their plans and purposes]. The counsel of the wicked will always lead you away from the purpose of God for your life. The Lord wants to be our counselor in every area of our lives. Psalm 32:8 says, I, the Lord, will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with My eye upon you.
So remember, the voice you listen to will determine the destiny that you walk in. Your future will be determined by the voice you choose to listen to. Be blessed, and listen to the Voice of the Good Shepherd!!!
