Living On Full : Bishop Tony Samuels

God desires nothing but the best for your life. Over and over, this is conveyed through the Scriptures. 3 John 2 says, Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. 1 Timothy 6:17 says, …the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy. And John 10:10 says, I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows]. The question is, how do we receive this life of living on full?

It’s all about receiving what God has already done. That means you don’t have to work for it; you don’t have to beg God for it; you just have to learn to receive. So how do we receive from God, living in the Kingdom of God? Well, it’s a matter of the heart. Proverbs 4:23 says, So above all, guard the affections of your heart, for they affect all that you are. Pay attention to the welfare of your innermost being, for from there flows the wellspring of life. This Scripture is amazing! Your life and what you experience on the outside is directly affected by your inner life. Usually, when people guard something, it’s a material asset. But the Bible tells us to guard something that can’t be seen by everyone; however, what comes from it will be seen by everyone.

Many people spend a lot of time, money, and effort trying to fill their lives with the things that they desire. But if you can take the time and effort to fill your heart with the things of God, it will eventually begin to affect your outer life, and what can’t be seen will eventually be seen.

2 Corinthians 4:18 says, …because we don’t focus our attention on what is seen but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but the unseen realm is eternal. Notice, we don’t focus on what is seen. This is challenging in the times we live in, because there are so many things contending for our attention. What you give your attention to will eventually fill up your spirit, and flow over into your life.

Luke 6:45 explains the process well: Out of the virtue stored in their hearts, good and upright people will produce good fruit. Likewise, out of the evil hidden in their hearts, evil ones will produce what is evil. For the overflow of what has been stored in your heart will be seen by your fruit and will be heard in your words. This is very clear. God has given us understanding on how to change the fruit of our lives: by changing the contents of our hearts!

I think we have to begin to see our hearts like a garden; what we sow into it will eventually grow and produce fruit. If you don’t like certain things in your life, ask yourself, what seeds have I been sowing? You have the choice and the ability to change the seed you have been sowing to cause better outcomes in your life. So, my brothers and sisters, let’s live on full: full of the Presence of God, full of the Word of God, full of the worship of God…and watch our lives be transformed into a Garden like Eden!

Be Blessed!!!
