Living In Heaven's Reality Pt. 3 - The Language of Heaven : Pastor Tony Samuels

One of the keys for us to experience the reality of Heaven is learning the language of Heaven. As we have discussed previously, when we were born again we became new creatures in Christ. Our position changed, and we are now seated in Heavenly places with Christ Jesus. You must understand and live from this new position. It is a position of authority, so when we speak, we are speaking from a place of authority. When you see a police officer and he says, “Stop,” versus a common citizen, you stop because you recognize his authority. The enemy knows our authority, and when we speak, he has to obey. The challenge is, we must awake to our position and begin to use our words to enforce the purposes of Heaven.

Ephesians 4: 29 says, Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. What an amazing Scripture! It gives us instruction on how to communicate with the language of Heaven! First, let no corrupt communication come out of your mouth. The word corrupt means: crooked, dishonest, perverted, wicked, evil; to destroy integrity. So we are never to speak words that are corrupt; we are only  to speak words that edify (build up), and words that minister grace (goodwill, favor, delight). The Bible is letting us know that the language of Heaven should build up the hearers and release the favor of God. Our spoken words are containers that deliver either corruption or grace; our words have the power to build up or tear down.

We are living in a time when statues, structures, and history are being torn down; communities are even being burned down. God is depending on us, whom He has given authority, to use our words to build things up. You might be saying, “How in the world can my words have an impact?” That’s one of the problems! Stop seeing yourself as insignificant; you have the ability to change the world around you! Remember, God created the Heavens and the Earth with His Words. Those very Words are still sustaining everything in the universe! Hebrews 1:3 confirms this: Upholding and maintaining and propelling all things in [the entire physical and spiritual universe] by His powerful word [carrying the universe along to its predetermined goal]. The Church is the only entity that can stand against the forces of darkness…but if the church goes silent and doesn’t exercise its authority, like that police officer, and say STOP, the destructive cycle will continue.

Proverbs 13:3 says, The one who guards his mouth [thinking before he speaks] protects his life; the one who opens his lips wide [and chatters without thinking] comes to ruin. Again, the Bible is letting us know that words have the power to protect, and the power to destroy. When you are a man or woman who walks in Heaven’s reality, you are careful with the words you speak, because you understand that words have the ability to release Heaven or hell, not just in our lives, but in the lives of others. Our authority is released through our words!

Look at what Jesus said in Mathew 16:19: “I will give you the keys (authority) of the kingdom of Heaven; and whatever you bind [forbid, declare to be improper and unlawful] on Earth will have [already] been bound in Heaven, and whatever you loose [permit, declare lawful] on Earth will have [already] been loosed in Heaven.” We are not waiting on God; God is waiting on us to use what He has given us. We can affect what happens on Earth. Heaven has been waiting; Heaven has been listening, and Heaven is ready to respond to us by bringing the Kingdom of Heaven to the Earth!

Church, let us not be silent; let’s begin to declare what God says, no matter how bad it looks. No matter how dark it gets, we are the agents of change for Almighty God. Speak and declare the language of Heaven, over your life, over your family, over the city, over the state, over our country, and over the world!
