Faith - The God Connector : Pastor Tony Samuels

But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Hebrews 11:6 (NKJV)

There are many aspects to faith when it come to our lives. Today, I want to focus on one of the most important aspects of faith, one that will be paramount if we are going to be successful in this Christian walk. One of the ways we use our faith is to bring into reality the very existence of God. Of course, we all believe that God exists, but I am talking about bringing the existence of God into your daily life. If you are going to live a victorious, overcoming life, you have to factor God into every situation and circumstance that you experience, whether good or bad.

Many times, we lose sight of the Lord in the midst of what we are going through, and we don’t even realize we have left the realm of faith and entered into the realm of doubt and unbelief. There is no true faith without factoring God into every circumstance. Of course, we want to feel the Lord, but sometimes we won’t feel Him. This doesn’t negate the fact that He still exists in our lives. Hebrews says we need faith to please God; then, it says that he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

So when you are truly in faith, your faith will always bring you to God. This is not a one-time thing; it’s a lifestyle of diligently seeking Him. Spiritual maturity is displayed by what happens in your relationship with God when you experience challenges. Do you view the Lord as a part of the problem, or do you recognize Him as the solution? Your faith is connected to your understanding of the character of God. Notice, Hebrews says He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

The word rewarder means: one who pays wages. So faith in God sees Him accurately, in His true nature and character. He is not a taker; He is a giver. He will give you strength; He will bring deliverance; He will bring whatever you need.

Look at this Scripture in 1 Corinthians 10:13 (TPT): We all experience times of testing, which is normal for every human being. But God will be faithful to you. He will screen and filter the severity, nature, and timing of every test or trial you face so that you can bear it. And each test is an opportunity to trust him more, for along with every trial God has provided for you a way of escape that will bring you out of it victoriously. True faith understands the faithfulness of God in the midst of trials. True faith will take you from looking at the trial to seeking God in the midst of the trial… and in the seeking, you find the way out, into victory. True faith keeps us connected to God, no matter what.

So, my brother and sisters, let’s rest in the character of our Father. He is so good, and your faith will keep you living in that reality!

Blessings,
