Positioned To Grow : Pastor Tony Samuels
Look how you’ve made all your lovers to flourish like palm trees, each one growing in victory, standing with strength! You’ve transplanted them into your heavenly courtyard, where they are thriving before you.
Psalms 92:12-13 Passion
One of the most powerful revelations to understand in our relationship with the Lord is that there are places God plants us while we are here on planet earth. God is involved with the times, seasons and boundaries of men. Acts 17:26 says, “And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation.” The Bible says that even from the beginning, when God made man, He made a Garden and planted the man in the Garden to tend it and keep it. This is vital, because our spiritual growth is directly connected to being in the place that God has planted us. In God’s place for your life is His grace. Sometimes, in our current positon, when it makes no sense and we don’t understand the why, God’s desire is to take us on a continual journey of experiencing His goodness for all eternity. The Bible says we go from Faith to Faith and Glory to Glory; each level of life, we experience the goodness of God, and at the same time He is preparing us and maturing us to go to the next level in experiencing His goodness.
Ecclesiastes 3:1 says that to everything there is a Season and a time to every purpose under heaven. There is a divine purpose to everything that happens in our lives. God’s main purpose in this life is our spiritual growth, because without growth He cannot advance the plan that He has for us. This spiritual growth is a journey that will continue until Jesus comes back. Look at Philippians 1:6, which says, “I pray with great faith for you, because I’m fully convinced that the One who began this glorious work in you will faithfully continue the process of maturing you and will put his finishing touches to it until the unveiling of our Lord Jesus Christ!” You are Gods masterpiece, but just like any artist doing artwork on a canvas, He needs that canvas to stay still while He completes his work. So it is with us in our current position. God is doing something on the inside of you. The temptation may be to run, because sometimes with growth comes pain; but on the other side of that pain, as you stay in position, is another level of growth. The Lord wants to do great things in our lives this year; you are positioned for growth on your job, in your home, in your church, and everywhere God has planted you! Sometimes the amazing thing about growth is that it happens when you don’t even realize it. So this year, stay in position; keep the process of your spiritual development going by staying in position. We are growing up so we can go up!
