I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.

In the current condition of our world, it can be difficult to find something good. For 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, society is being bombarded with images and news of hopelessness. This current pandemic is creating other pandemics, and society doesn’t even realize it. As Christians, we have to be careful that we don’t allow ourselves to be influenced by the report of the world. Jesus said we are in the world but not of the world. Our expectations, no matter what is happening, has to be to see the Goodness of God in the land of the living.

From the beginning, we see in the book of Genesis that God is always ready to invade planet earth with His Goodness. Genesis 1:2-4 - And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good… It says the earth was dark, but God was there; then He moved to eradicate the darkness and said, “Let there be light.” He saw it and it was good. Just like that, the Goodness of God changed the whole scenery of the planet.

That was in the beginning, but in the here and now, God wants to manifest His goodness through His children. Jesus left us an example of how it should look. Acts 10:38 - How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him. Jesus came into a world that was infected with sin, disease, and religion with no power. But notice, He was anointed with the Holy Ghost and power You see, Jesus was already infected with the Goodness of God. His ministry was to go around infecting people with His goodness. He was the antidote for their disease; He was the cure that they had been looking for!

People of God LISTEN. The Bible says that greater is He that is on the inside of us than he that is in the world. Jesus never got infected by the sick people He came into contact with, because His Goodness was greater than their issue. Now, He is depending on the Church, His body, to follow His example. To infect society with His goodness, we need to become more aware of the God that lives on the inside of us than the thief that is operating in the world.  

What you focus on becomes bigger in your mind, your spirit, and eventually your natural life. How do you think David defeated Goliath? Goliath was already defeated because David’s revelation of God was bigger than the reality of Goliath. Church, the world needs us; our families need us, and God is depending on us to be dispensers of His goodness. He is waiting for us to make a withdrawal of His goodness, and dispense it to the world.  

I will leave you with this: Psalm 31:19 - Oh how great is thy goodness, which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee; which thou hast wrought for them that trust in thee before the sons of men!
