Consistency : Elliott Cook

Do you not know that in a race all the runners run [their very best to win], but only one receives the prize? Run [your race] in such a way that you may seize the prize and make it yours!

1 Corinthians 9:24 (AMP)

“On your Mark....Get set.........GO!!!” We all love the start and the finish of a race. All the excitement and thrill of the competition from the beginning to the end. But what happens when the rush dies down and the crowd gets quiet? What about the time in-between? The time that doesn’t seem as important? The time that’s not so glamorous or celebrated? The time you’re doing something else while the race goes on? To the driver of the car, that’s the difficult part; to stay consistent and focused as the laps pass by. He can’t get bored or distracted if he wants to finish strong and finish first. Our life can sometimes seem like a grueling race toward a goal that seems unreachable at times. The Word is our hope that keeps us going during those long laps in life; a hope that steers and guides our life in the right direction, toward a promised finish line of perfection.

The word of God is SO powerful, and more than capable of transforming anybody’s mess into a message of His love, grace and mercy!! His Word is filled and packed with promises that can take your life from faith to faith, and glory to glory. In between the “faith” and in-between the “glory”... CONSISTENCY is the glue that makes the promises of God come to pass in your life. Consistency mixed with faith creates a transformed life for the world to see. Little by little, God is continually transforming you into His glorious image, and consistency is the momentum that keeps you getting there when life tries to re-direct you and stop your progress.

Proverbs 24:16 says, For a righteous man falls seven times and rises again…

Consistency motivates you to keep going when the road gets tough. Consistency keeps you getting back up again from the trials of life. Consistency keeps you focused and encouraged when others might pass you by.

The finish line is approaching......how are you handling the corners in life? The abrupt stops and detours on the way? The angry taunts of the other team’s fans? The caution laps and rain delays? Don’t give up.  Keep pressing…press on, and don’t quit!!! Remember, it’s not how quick you get off the line, or how fast you finish. It’s about how you live and drive between the lines of life. Maintaining a consistent life of Faith will take you there, and have you enjoy the ride toward your finish line!!

 1 Corinthians 15:58 (AMP):

Therefore, my beloved brothers and sisters, be steadfast, immovable, always excelling in the work of the Lord [always doing your best and doing more than is needed], being continually aware that your labor [even to the point of exhaustion] in the Lord is not futile nor wasted [it is never without purpose].
