Change Your View, Change Your Destiny : Bishop Tony Samuels

As we stand in a new year, let us maintain a high level of expectation, believing for the manifestation of the Power of God. Believing puts us in position to experience some great things in and through our lives. Look at Ephesians 1:19: […and so that you will begin to know] what the immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness of His [active, spiritual power is in us who believe. To experience expansion this year in our lives, we have to change the way we view ourselves. If not, we will not be able to receive what the Lord has for us.

One of the ways the enemy tries to stop our expansion is through the things we experienced in our past. These things have an effect on the way we view ourselves. Isaiah 54:4 says, Do not fear, for your shame is no more. Do not be embarrassed, for you will not be disgraced. You will forget the inadequacy you felt in your youth and will no longer remember the shame of your widowhood. The Lord had to deal with the shame that was on His people before they could step into all that He had for their lives, and become everything He had called them to be. Shame means: A painful sensation excited by a consciousness of guilt, or of having done something which injures reputation; that which brings reproach, and degrades a person in the estimation of others; disgrace. Shame can become a prison; one in which, even though God has given us all things, we won’t be able to accept it.

Hebrews 12:2 says, Looking unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. Shame is connected to a memory of something you did or something that happened. Well, Jesus took your shame at the Cross, so you don’t have to view yourself through it anymore. The King of Kings is calling us to sit at His table in 2022. Don’t let shame hold you back; come and feast on His Goodness for your life! Be blessed in 2022!
